Senior-Business Development coordinator for its
*Background *
In January 2009 INA launched the development of Horti Chain Centre
(HCC), a horticultural supply chain development centre, that is
supported by the Indonesia Facility of the EVD (International Business
and Cooperation) the
create local capacity building to help horticulture supply chain actors
(growers and their organizations, buyers/enterprises) to connect with
dynamic and market segments inside and outside
HCC will develop business development services through trained supply
chains facilitators and by providing knowledge and information about
markets and supply chain partners, opportunities and commercial
financial facilities.
The main objective of this service is to strengthen the position of the
parties involved in HCC and to boost the growth of investment and trade
activities in the sector.
*Senior Business Development*

*Responsibilities: *
* The tasks of the assigned expert are:
o Managing the daily operations of the centre;
o Formulating the strategy and policies of the HCC and implement in a
cost-effective and time-efficient manner;
o Identifying potential and opportunities for cooperation among the
relevant stakeholders in horticulture supply chains and facilitating
business matchmaking: negotiating strategic alliance; hosting business
meeting; facilitating discussion platform;
o Networking: develop networking opportunities via linking to other
conferences/
networks with relevant partners in selected sectors on
national/internatio
o Provide relevant inputs for publications and internal reports in
English;
o Support the recruitment and management of external expert/s;
o Design, organize and facilitate training activities with local
partners;
o Ensuring the short-term and maximizing the long-term financial
viability of HCC;
o Ensuring adequate financial administration;
o Ensuring adequate centre facilities and a good working atmosphere;
o Employing and dismissing staff members of the HCC;
o Ensuring that the proper documents are reported and presented to
the related principals and the proper procedures are followed during the
meetings of the INA.
* Regular progress reports and result in soft copy format:
o List of potential customers
o Number of successful partnerships created and served
o Strategy in HCC development, entrepreneurships development
and business planning
o Alternative mechanism to increase productivity and to
generate the income/funds that will need to ensure
sustainability of HCC
*Requirements:
* For the HCC, we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague whom
wants to strengthen our team. The expertise we are looking for
should have professional background:
o Degree in economics or business administration, with
emphasis on marketing, communication, public relations
and/or business development strategies at least 5 years of
practical experience in business development positions
o Preferably with knowledge and experience about the fresh and
processed agro-food sector.
o Other skills:
+ Project planning, implementation and monitoring skills
+ Training skills
+ Experience with the development of business plans
+ Problem analysis and problem solution skills
+ Dealing with stakeholders from a broad range of
backgrounds
+ Being familiar with the intervention area of the HCC
is an advantage
+ Good communication in English (both in spoken and
written)
+ Good computer skills (word, excel, internet).
The coordinator is expected to start in February 2010. The assignment
will be completed by December 2010 with a possibility for extension in
case the services of HCC have been developed in a successful way. The
