Organization Profile:
Cordia Caritas Medan is a humanitarian organisation
under the Archdiocese of Medan and also the member of the Caritas
Internationalis association. It was established on February 2005 as the
response of tsunami disaster that occurred in Aceh at the end of 2004. Cordia
itself helps in overcoming the tsunami victims in Aceh and Nias as well. Cordia
has three program divisions for current projects. There are Social Division,
DRR and ER Division and Livelihood Divison. Now Cordia will start running the
new project of Livelihood. It will be implemented starting on January 2010,
therefore Cordia is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position below
:

Position Summary:
Livelihood Field Officer is responsible in facilitating livelihood project in
selected in selected community, should willing to travel to out of town and
stay in the village for a few days regularly every month. LFO will responsible
in providing activities report and monthly progress report to livelihood
manager.

SPECIFIC DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To facilitate accompaniment in selected communities in developing
livelihood project
2. To facilitate training on livelihood such as agriculture,
entrepreneurship and marketing for selected communities after get Training of
Trainers (ToT) for the selected training
3. To conduct monthly meeting in community level to monitor the
progress of project
4. To make sure the activities in communities, run as the time schedule
5. To report project progress regularly to Project Manager every month

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum S1 on Agriculture
2. At least 2 years progressive experience in Agriculture working in NGO or
others
3. Have experience work in community level
4. Skills/Knowledge:
· Able to work independently or
team
· Strong interpersonal and
communication skills
· Hardworking and able to
communicate at all levels, Drive and initiative
· Stress management skill
· Time management skill

Title : Provincial Biogas Coordinator
Duty Station : Bali
Responsible to : Programme Manager Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme Coordinates with IDBP Program staff at national level, Hivos Program Officer, Technical Advisors, support staff, Provincial and District Government and partners
Duration : February 1, 2010 to July 3, 2011 (extension possible).
Closing date : 15 January 2010

Since 15 May 2009, Hivos is running the Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme (IDBP), funded by the Dutch government and supported by DGEEU. This programme is undertaken in close cooperation with SNV Netherlands Development organisation.

The overall objective of the Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme is to disseminate domestic bio-digesters as a local and sustainable energy source through the development of a market oriented sector in selected provinces.

The specific objectives of the Programme contributing to its overall objective are:

• To support implementation of provincial bio-digester programmes and increase the number of quality domestic bio-digesters with 8,000 in maximum eight provinces, of which 2,000 installations will be outside Java;

• To ensure the continued operation of all bio-digesters installed under the programme;

• To maximise the benefits of the operated bio-digesters, in particular the optimal use of digester slurry;

• To develop the capacity of existing organisations and institutions and to facilitate establishment of organisations and institutions for the continued and sustained development of the bio-digester sector;

• To develop financial services to enable poor farmer households to participate in the biogas programmes;

• To effectively exchange knowledge between all relevant actors in the programme and with relevant international actors.

The Programme intends to recruit a Provincial Coordinators who supports the Programme Manager in securing the quality of the Program at provincial level and liaise with provincial stake holder.

Post Description

The Provincial Biogas Programme Offices of the Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme are main players in the development of the biogas sector in their respective provinces. Each provincial office will have a team that implements the programme, together with other local stakeholder organisations and local governments. The leading person in the Provincial Biogas Programme Office (PBPO) is the Provincial Biogas Coordinator. In close coordination with the IDBP Programme Manager (based in the National Biogas Program Support Office in Jakarta), the Provincial Biogas Coordinator manages day to day operation of the office as well as the progress of work in the field. Major responsibilities include maintaining construction progress, stakeholder coordination and liaison, administration, and handling local credit providers. The scope of the activities of the Provincial Coordinator includes:

• Manage the Provincial Office
• Prepare Detailed Implementation Plans and Budgets
• Prepare 6-monthly and annual work plans and budgets and reports for submission to the donor and government
• Prepare 3-monthly plans and budget, progress and financial reports for submission to NBPSO
• Liaise with provincial stakeholders (government, private sector, cooperatives, and NGOs) which play a – potential - role in the implementation of the biogas programme,
• Identify, recommend and contract suitable programme partners (for promotion, construction and extension)
• Select suitable programme areas within the province in coordination with the NBPSO
• Monitor promotional activities and programme progress through field visits and data collection
• Act as programme focal point at provincial level
• Supervise the provincial programme staff and assist in or lead recruitment
• Supervise the day to day operation at the provincial level
• Ensure proper financial and administrative activities adhering to the Standard Operation Guidelines and other instructions from the NBPSO
• Coordinate regularly with the National Biogas Programme Office in Jakarta
• Contribute to programme development strategies, especially for the provincial level
• Ensure proper biogas digester data collection procedures and practices and maintain an MIS in accordance with programme requirements or instructions from the NBPSO
• Provide logistical and liaison support to field visits
• Assist the IDBP Programme Manager in additional task as requested
• Undertake research activities when deemed required and play a role in knowledge dissemination

Requirements

a) University Degree (minimal S1) in management, rural development or other relevant subject;
b) Proven management and coordination abilities, a minimum of 4 years working experience in a related field;
c) Proven ability in report writing in English and Bahasa Indonesia;
d) Excellent communication / human relation skills ;
e) Affinity with renewable energy;
f) Team player

o Managing the daily operations of the centre;

* For the HCC, we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague whom
wants to strengthen our team. The expertise we are looking for
should have professional background:
o Degree in economics or business administration, with
emphasis on marketing, communication, public relations
and/or business development strategies at least 5 years of
practical experience in business development positions
o Preferably with knowledge and experience about the fresh and
processed agro-food sector.
o Other skills:

The American Red Crosshelps vulnerable people around the world to prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters, complex humanitarian emergencies and life-threatening health conditions. As a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and one of more than 20 National Societies working with PMI in Indonesia, the American Red Cross is currently implementing its development programs in Banda Aceh, Aceh Utara, Lamno and Calang with a liaison office in Jakarta.

The work of the American Red Cross in Indonesia is focused on 6 main areas: water and sanitation, community infrastructure, psychosocial support, health (avian flu, community-based first aid, social mobilization and youth red-cross), disaster management and livelihood support. We implement our work directly, through partnership with host national societies, UN agencies and other non-governmental organizations.

The American Red Cross Red Cross Youth and School Health Projectwork together with Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in a total of 100 schools across 22 sub-districts, from two districts of Aceh. With an aim to ‘improve the health status of school aged children in the districts of Aceh Utara and Aceh Barat Daya, SPMI-YRC project work with Indonesian Red Cross (PMI – Palang Merah Indonesia) in addressing environmental and personal hygiene in school aged children, their teachers and the parents. The project also involves a capacity building component for the implementation partner – PMI that involves formal trainings to PMI staff, volunteer on project management, financial management and monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

American Red Cross (ARC) is hiring a local consultant to work as a co-evaluator with the International Consultant for the evaluation of Youth Red Cross Program of ARC. The local consultant will mainly help and work together with the International Consultant to help design evaluation instruments, evaluation procedures and schedules and conduct in/dependent interviews in sampled program area. S/he will assist the Int. Consultant to compile and analysis data from focus group and key informant interviews. The main report writing task will be the responsibility of the Int. Consultant.

The local consultant will broadly help the Int. Consultant in all tasks as stated in the main YRC Evaluation ToR (Available on demand) until the end of field works in Indonesia.

Requirements
·            At least five years of experience in evaluation of a range of interventions, preferably in health
·            Masters degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience;
·            Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and evaluations
·            The ability to work with people of different language and cultural backgrounds;
·            Ability to work independently and be comfortable in field environment
·            Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and as part of a team;
·            Strong organizational skills;
·            Strong computer skills in the areas of spreadsheets, word processing, and other relevant software ;
·            Strong interpersonal skills;
·            Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia
Strongly preferred:
·            Experience working in Aceh and Tsunami affected communities
·            Knowledge of Acehnese language desirable.

The DAI-AMARTA project is working in three value chains nationwide and seeks a full time additional staff to support coffee sector activities based in Jakarta.

The objective of this position is to assist in the design, implementation, and management of the coffee value chain initiatives in various locations to enhance Indonesian competitiveness through value chain interventions. The Coffee Value Chain Competitiveness Advisor is specifically responsible for liaising with producer organizations to identify, plan, and implement technical assistance, training, and RACA activities for the Arabica coffee value chain, resulting in increased productivity, improved quality, access to better markets, and an enhanced enabling environment.

TASKS (PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS)

Assist in the delivery of core industry value chain strengthening activities:
Assist in the development and implementation of Regional Agribusiness Competitiveness Alliances for the Coffee Sector
Deliver periodic quantitative and qualitative data from VC interventions in a timely manner, as well as descriptive reporting of results.
Obtain and deliver periodic data from RACA activity and capacity building development
Planning and conducting smallholder coffee farmer training and technical assistance activities to increase productivity and improve quality, as well as assisting the SCAI (Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia) in membership development activities.

The Coffee Value Chain Competitiveness Advisor will be based in Jakarta with travel to other cities as needed. This position will report directly to the Chief of Party in Jakarta.
