Swiss salaried contract 2300 € < > 3000 € /month according to
experience x 13, Vacancy: 25 days per year, local accommodation and
transportation, Health insurance, accident and medical repatriation
insurance, return flight.
General responsibilities:
The Psychosocial & Child Protection Coordinator manages, with
guidance from the Emergency Desk Officer and Emergency Unit
Psychosocial Itinerant Delegate, all aspects related to Psychosocial
and Child Protection project and representation for Tdh project in
operational responsibilities. S/he will be responsible for implementing
the Tdh strategy and project and ensuring consistence with the overall
organizational strategy with utmost respect for Tdh Charter, Code of
Conduct and Child Protection Policy. Close collaboration and
Coordination with TDH Netherland and TDH Germany will be expected in
implementation of project.
Special recommendations bound to the station of Project Coordinator
The Psychosocial & Child Protection Coordinator will work in direct
collaboration with the mission personnel and interface directly with HQ
as appropriate for programme strategy, reporting and administration.
(S)he has direct access to confidential information, such as: the
general strategy of Tdh in
in the field and financial details, and the security guidelines. A
professional sense of security, confidentiality, and proper
representation is paramount.

Psychosocial and Protection
Ensure the implementation, the daily management and the development of
Tdh's psychosocial and protection activities for children in selected
schools in Padang-Pariaman .
Maintain and develop quality centre-based activities, ensuring they are
various, culturally adapted, take into consideration gender and
age-group factors, and respond efficiently to the psychosocial needs of
children.
Develop activities aiming the protection and support to most vulnerable
children and families (social work). This includes identification of
the most vulnerable ones and of the overall protection problems and
risks, use and development of efficient internal case management and
referral mechanisms, via mobile social work teams.
With a participative approach, mobilize the community, identify
relevant actors, and encourage their participation in the project
(community leaders, volunteers, mothers groups, parents committees…).
In collaboration with the community identify psychosocial and
protection needs, most appropriate responses and existing or possible
community support mechanisms (and if necessary reinforced).
Conduct activities aiming the reinforcement of community and parents
awareness on psychosocial and protection needs of children, on CRC
(community information and sensitisation, organisation of communication
events…)
Develop activities conducted with women and mothers with as objective
the provision of psychosocial support, information sharing,
identification of most vulnerable ones and possible support mechanisms
Develop appropriate program materials for psychosocial and protection activities
Lead the development of the Tdh psychosocial and protection strategy in
Coordination
Foster official relationships with Psychosocial and protection
officials, UN agencies, working groups, donor agencies, international
humanitarian organizations, local NGOs, and local government
authorities.
Communicate to team any logistical support needs for psychosocial activities in a timely manner
Collaborate with other team members on an updated situational analysis, including Tdh HQ resource persons
Participate or conduct assessment / data collection when requested by HQ

Human Resources
Initiate recruitment of local staff team and draft terms of reference.
Interview and hire key national project staff as necessary
Provide ongoing staff supervision and support, including regular and constructive feedback.
Provide the necessary support, training, and capacity building as
appropriate throughout the various phases of implementation and
start-up
Develop and conduct short term and on-going training on basic
principles when dealing with children affected by natural catastrophe,
including community based approach, child participation, and other key
skills needed for Psychosocial and Protection program implementation
Others
Takes the lead in implementation of Tdh Child Protection Policy at all
levels of its
strategy for promoting awareness among Tdh staff and partners (UN, NGO,
local authorities, etc.)
Prepare reports and briefings as needed (monthly situational report,
donor reports), describing observations and assessments about
effectiveness and quality control. Upon completion of the assignment,
submit detailed handover notes.
Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the Emergency Desk Officer
Key Required Skills and Experience
Master in social work, sociology, anthropology or humanitarian actions.
Experience in project cycle management
Proving experience as trainer, especially in Child Rights, development and animation of activities for children and adolescents.
Talent in capacity building and supporting national staff to take the lead
Experience in community empowerment, participation techniques and approaches with children, adults and youths.
Good knowledge of emergency humanitarian environment (NGO, UN, Donors…)
Substantial management experience as well as strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
Fluent written and spoken English, French a plus;
3-5 years of oversees experience in program management
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers
Great level of social-cultural sensibility in dealings with the
colleagues and the people; ability to cope with a heavy workload; high
level of frustration tolerance; deep sense of humor.
